Shanghai Creativity is an international company founded in 2005 in Shanghai, China, whose main business is to promote advanced coatings. These coatings are either imported directly from North America or toll manufactured in China with the authorization of the North America coating companies. We also private label under our own trademark to avoid competition with the coating manufacturer’s current sales network. 

Shanghai Creativity has our own plant, to toll manufactue our oversea partners products such as polyurea in China. We offer sales support such as testing reports, technical service to customers, on behalf of the oversea partners, in China and in Asia. Further, we also can help to distribute sales materials, such as liquid/dry samples, literatures, brochures. We will also help to print the brochures in Chinese. We have decent offices, which can be shared with your firm if neccessary in order to save your initial sales budget, etc. Our techinical service people can help the training of your customers, on behalf of your firm. etc....We have been in the style of business for so many years successfully. 

Shanghai Creativity focuses exclusively on 100% solids, fast set Plural-Component Spray Polymer coatings. Our experience with such polymer coatings includes Polyurea, Hybrid-Polyurea, Rigid and Elastomeric Polyurethane, Acrylic Ester and others. We have several sales offices on the Chinese mainland, located in Shanghai, Shandong and Guangdong. We own 10+ set of Graco Plural Spray Equipment operated by 10+ full time employees, which are used to provide training and technical service to our customers. We also have a strategic alliance with several influential partners who have more than 20 sets of equipment that are available during the busy season for new customers to rent.

DOING BUSINESS IN CHINA – NOT SO EASY

If your company has not yet entered the China market, you will no doubt be amazed at the business opportunities that it has to offer. And we are here to help you take advantage of these opportunities. 

 

Officially, the easiest and cheapest way for your company to start selling coatings in China is to set up a local Representative Office and hire local sales people to operate the business. The Government, however, does not allow any sales through this type of Representative Office. This is because all official sales invoices in China are under the management of the Central Government. A Representative Office is not allowed to issue this type of sales invoice (referred to as a VAT invoice) because a company like this is not able to issue a refund if there is a product related failure. The Representative Office would have to ask your customer to pay through a third party company, which issues the VAT invoice and is authorized by the Government to import coatings directly from the U.S. manufacturer. This exposes your company to a number of risks. For example, the third party company could, for any number of reasons, refuse to issue the VAT invoice to your customer, or it could accept the money from the customer and not pay the US supplier. Unfortunately these types of things can and have happened in China.
 
Another option is to set up a Sales Company in China, which is authorized by the Government to import and sell coatings on its own. To establish a Sales Company, however, requires a substantial investment, starting with an initial registered capital of at least $150,000.00 USD. The Sales Company would require a number of full time employees, including an accountant, a cashier, a manager, a salesperson, and a technical service person, all of whom will have to be paid monthly. It is also important to have the specialized equipment available in order to provide training and technical service for customers who do not have access to this equipment. A local warehouse for stocking material is also essential, as customers will rarely wait 4+ weeks for a container to arrive. When a project owner in China makes the decision to proceed with a project, they expect construction to start immediately.

Once we close a sale for your coating according to the local requirement, we will submit 100% payment in advance, prior to shipment of the container. In another words, there is NO risk.
 
Especially when your coating is more specialized in performance for e.g., you have a heat-resistance formulation better than common polyurea, or if your company focuses on a niche market successfully in your country, then we will have more interest to work together with your company.
